Shell script doesn't return the number of elements in an array
I'm trying to make a shell script that will loop though an array of IP addresses and send HTTP GET requests to them, so I wrote the script as below:
#!/bin/bash
while read ip
do
./myscript.sh "$ip"
done
However, it seems like the script doesn't return a status back to the while loop, instead it just keeps looping though the script again and again and again. I've tried adding the double quotes and I've tried adding the exit statuses as well but to no avail. I suspect that the problem is with the script itself, because if I replace the script with a simple command, like:
echo "$ip"
It prints the IP addresses to the screen and then it works as expected, so I'm thinking that the problem is that the script isn't returning a status to the while loop. But I don't know how to fix it.

You can get around the problem by just using for.
for ip in $(./myscript.sh)
do
./myscript. ac619d1d87
